EXCEEDING THE MILEAGE |
If you exceed the total mileage then at the end of the rental you pay an additional "excess mileage" charge for these extra miles. It's usually between 4p and 10p per mile. |
SERVICING THIS PEUGEOT 308 |
This car deal does not include servicing. You have to get the car serviced at the manufacturer scheduled intervals and mileage. Most contracts allow this to be done by a non-franchised garage, but some finance companies (mainly VW, Audi, Skoda, Seat and BMWs and some Mercedes contracts) insist on using the franchised dealer. It is hard to know exactly until we all see the finance agreements. Whatever, if you use the car normally, the servicing requirements will be minimal. Only heavy users will ever need to replace brake pads, for example. |
Because there is no other de-facto ID card in the UK, the finance company always want to see your driving licence - IN YOUR CURRENT ADDRESS as proposed. Most companies want a copy, but some insist on seeing the original.
You can upload a good copy after you order your car. When you copy or scan your licence, make sure it's clear. For the new-style licence, make sure all of the security holograms and features are very clear and in colour. Faxing the card is bad news because you will look like a Jamaican coal miner. On a fax the image is usually bad. I recommend taking a photo and uploading it. The details and picture need to be very clear, not blurry at all. |
Your car will be on the LATEST REG PLATE (at time of delivery)... | |||||
...unless I tell you otherwise. Sometimes, near plate-change dates, cars have to be registered on the "old" plate. In these rare cases, there is no difference to the actual car, it is just numbers on the plastic reg plate. |

Taking your Peugeot 308 on holiday.
You
can take the
Peugeot 308 abroad to any normal destination (usually excluding dodgy places like Albania, etc), but you should apply for
a VE103 form from the finance company before you go, which
proves to the damn foreign police that you have permission to use the car.
|
Delivery of your new Peugeot 308.
I get the car delivered to you at a reasonable address in the UK mainland FOR FREE. Usually, this is your home or work address. If you live somewhere like Northern Ireland or the Isle of Wight, I deliver the car to the mainland docks and you collect from there. Parts of Scotland can also be chargeable. It is all common sense, really. Cars can be driven, or delivered on trailer, at the discretion of the supplier. |
There is a MYTH that repairs can cost more
on lease cars. This is not true. Most repairs are tiny and can be done cheaply before your car is returned. EASY! ...at the end of the contract.
At the end of the contract, the
car will be inspected and returned to the finance company.
Damage will be chargeable, as will excess mileage. But this is all reasonable. |
This kind of damage is NOT acceptable, hahaha! |
Do you need to MOT?
An MOT is due on a new
car's third birthday. As a coincidence, many
cars on three year contracts are returned to the finance company on their third birthday, too!Usually if your car goes back BEFORE the MOT is due = no MOT. Usually if your car goes back AFTER the MOT is due = MOT needed. Easy! But it's always best to check with the finance company direct as their policies may change |
What happens
when I press "Order Now"? |
"When you press "Order Now", you will be taken to my proposal form. This does not commit you for the car, and I will never go ahead with your application without a very clear, further final agreement from you." - Ling |
