My Honda Jazz CO2 g/km levels

I am the fastest car supplier in the UK to update the Honda Jazz 1.3 i-VTEC S 16v (102bhp) Hatchback 5dr 1318cc Petrol Manual (6 Speed) Petrol Manual information. No one in the industry can believe how fast I am.

Environment

At the manufacturer’s service intervals, the car will need a service, which you are responsible for. Of course, as it’s a brand-new car, tyres/brakes etc will probably last out the contract so you’ll only have a basic oil and filter service to pay for.

I also took the decision to code into HTML and make available for printing the “Comparative Labels” or the “fridge” type labels you see at Comet and Curry’s on new fridges and washing machines. No other UK website bothers (or wants) to give their customers this information. One day they will be forced to do this. I have made my code freely available for any dealer who wants to use it, and published a tutorial on how to include this in their websites. This was published on the Automotive Management forum on 26th October 2006. To date, no dealer has contacted me to use my code.

For this brand new Honda Jazz Petrol Manual, the latest CO2 figure is just 116g/km. When I chose this trim, it was because I have a few of these available. Different trims will have different CO2.

Environment

My Honda Jazz 1.3 i-VTEC S 16v (102bhp) Hatchback 5dr 1318cc Petrol Manual (6 Speed) Petrol Manual gearbox is only £163.00 inc VAT per month with 3 months initial payment, followed by 35 payments on direct debit. Business customers, make sure you deduct the VAT, when making decisions. As I can’t tell what type of customer you are (business or private), I can’t display the price any other way but to show VAT seperately (sorry!).

HondaThis price on my Honda Jazz includes full road tax for the length of the contract, on all of my cars and vans! Free delivery to your home or work and free collection from you at the end! £163.00 inc VAT per month is based on you driving 10,000 miles per annum, but higher mileages are usually available at a small extra cost. If you go over the allocated miles, you can pay a small excess mileage charge, usually between 3p and 15p per mile.

Environmental Data

Sir Nicholas Stern, Head of the Government Economics Service, produced the UK Government Environmental Report on the Economics of Climate Change. I was so pleased to win an Environmental Award in 2008, myself. I am determined that LINGsCARS.com will go further than anyone else in this industry to exceed the legal minimum information disclosure. It is probably the case that my customers have the smallest environmental footprints of any new car customers in the UK!

Use air-conditioning sparingly – running air-conditioning continuously will increase fuel consumption significantly.

A lot of people write comments. I get them all the time. This is one of the silliest:

Ling, help me pick a car for my missus… she wants a car big enough to carry 3 kids and a rottweiller, that looks like a 911, with the economy of a 1.6 diesel and the luxury of a Range Rover. Any ideas? No, me neither…

Hybrid vehicles combine an internal combustion engine with an electric motor and battery. There are various ways in which hybrid vehicles can operate. For example the electric motor can be used to provide additional power during acceleration and high load conditions. The battery can then be recharged by the internal combustion engine or from energy absorbed during braking, or, in some cases, from an external electrical supply. Hybrid vehicles offer reduced fuel consumption and CO2 with potentially some reduction in emissions of local pollutants.

Inbetween all my bills and bank statements, I receive customer letters. Here one I pulled out to read from David Hymers, but I actually got it a while ago. It is about the delivery of their Audi A4 Saloon.

David says…
Carcar“Ling is unique – I’ve been selling for 30+ years, but her marketing and sales approach rates as amongst the best I’ve ever seen. This is (as importantly) backed up by fast, accurate and helpful responses to pricing, queries and completion arrangements.

Fast, competitive, helpful – why go elsewhere? I had no complaints and excellent service from both of Ling’s supplying dealers. That’s right, I had two new cars from Ling, a Jaguar X-Type and an Audi A4!”

Peugeot 308 Lease delivered to Sarah Jarrett in Cumbria

Many customer letters contain really funny stuff. It’s unusual to receive a very dry one. However, I publish them all. Here is a letter from Sarah Jarrett. It was sent to me quite a while ago!

Sarah says…
carFound LINGsCARS after recommendation from family and expected the service to be compromised because the price of my new Peugeot 308 was so much lower than anywhere else I had looked. This wasn’t the case and I couldn’t have been treated any better – despite the remote location of my house. I would and have recommended Ling to everyone I know.

Peugeot 308Editor Note: Hahahaha, price of the car has nothing to do with service, Sarah. I treat all customers the same, from Matiz to BMW M3. No difference to me. I generate the lowest prices possible, and demand top service from suppliers. Lovely letter from wild and windy (and wet) Cumbria, thanks so much! – Ling

Comparative label for the Mercedes C Class Saloon

Checking against the values I publish for the Mercedes C Class Saloon 1.5 C200 SE (197bhp) Saloon 4dr 1497cc Petrol 9G-Tronic (9 Speed) Petrol Automatic, I have noticed a small error, so I’m publishing these new figures today. Please read.

Physical stock is always limited, as cars cannot be made to appear by magic, there are only so many sat in corner of field. So be brave, grab a bargain and avoid me having to make phone calls to disappointed people who have left decision too late. Remember that you have to pass finance before I can reserve you a car, so allow time for that!

My customers agree to adhere to a fixed mileage allowance (usually 10,000, 15,000 or 20,000 miles per annum) and they are charged for “excess” miles. This means they are far more aware of the costs involved in unneccessary journeys in their new cars. To a certain extent, my customers will consider “is my journey really neccessary?” and “would it be cheaper to do this long trip on the train?”.

EU Directive 1999/94/EC requires new car fuel consumption and CO2 emissions data to be made freely available to consumers. Car dealers are required to have a label showing the fuel consumption and CO2 emissions of each different model on display, either on or near the vehicle. Fuel consumption figures will be expressed both in litres per 100 kilometres (l/100 km) and in miles per gallon (mpg). The label will list the figures achieved in urban, extra-urban and combined conditions separately. From September of 2005, dealers had the option to produce a new “comparative” label. The new label shows the mandatory Fuel Consumption and CO2 figures mentioned previously, alongside information about the appropriate VED band for the vehicle. The new label is similar in design to the energy efficiency labels that appear on many ‘white goods’, such as fridge freezers

Citroen C3 Lease delivered to Steve Butcher in Bolton

I am amazed the Post Office needs to be privatised, the amount that my customers spend sending me letters about their new cars. Here, Steve Butcher explains how they are getting on with their Citroen C3

Steve says…
car“Hi Ling

The more I found out about you and your business the more I liked. Your good humour and banter shines through making the hiring process a pleasurable experience. Your email service was highly responsive and you obviously take note and show a considerate understanding of your client needs. You are very competitive on price and ultimately this will always be a major advantage if maintained.

I would recommend you without hesitation, I strongly urge straight-laced people (including myself here) and those serious corporate types not to be put off by your crazy web site! It is refreshing to see a new approach in this type of business that I suspect will grow and grow if the American experience is anything to go by.

I had no problem insuring my car but if you can fit it in on your web site (!), then some insurance advice would help further boost confidence for people considering this form of motoring.

I wish you well for the future.”

Hydrocarbon results for the BMW 2 Series Coupe have changed

Don’t spend so much on fuel! If you get a new BMW 2 Series Coupe Petrol 1.5 218i M Sport (Nav) 12v (136bhp) (4 seats) Coupe 2dr 1499cc Petrol Step Auto (8 Speed) Automatic, then you will spend less because the CO2 value has changed. That means more MPG.

As a bonus to add to your lower motoring costs, you will get every subsequent year’s road tax sent to you free of charge, saving you up to £385 per year, or £1,155 on a 3-year contract!

According to Nicholas Stern’s report, 14 per cent of global carbon dioxide emissions come from transport. The SMMT points out that the motor industry recognises it has a key role to play in reducing the impact of its products and production processes and will continue to develop the technologies to deliver more sustainable motoring. New cars, commercial vehicles and buses reflect many of the cleaner technologies coming to market, including biofuel models, hybrids and greener diesel vehicles.

The CO2 for this BMW 2 Series Coupe Petrol Automatic is better than it was, at just 129g/km. It is a bit different if you look at a slightly different trim level.

Environmental Data

Because of the need to maintain strict comparability of results achieved by the standard tests they cannot be fully representative of real life driving conditions. Firstly, it is obviously not practicable to test each individual new car; thus only one production car is tested as being representative of the model and may therefore produce a better or worse result than another similar vehicle. Secondly, there are infinite variations in driving styles and in road, car and weather conditions, all of which can have a bearing on the results achieved. For these reasons the fuel consumption achieved on the road will not necessarily be the same as the official test results.

Toxic gases on the Mercedes GLA Class

CO2 affects fuel consumption directly. Less CO2 means less fuel burnt. So, I’m reporting this change on the Mercedes GLA Class Petrol Automatic. Have a look at the new figures.

You run this new car for 12, 18, 24 or 36 months depending on the term, and run it within an agreed mileage limit (usually 10,000, 15,000 or 20,000 miles per year, but different mileages are possible). If you exceed the mileage limit, you pay for extra miles at (typically) 4p – 10p per extra mile. This is known as the excess mileage rate.

Environment

My customers drive brand-new cars. These cars are far less polluting than cars built just a few years ago. As an extreme example, it would take 50 new cars to produce the same emissions per kilometre as a vehicle made in 1970. The new cars my customers are driving have been produced on the most modern production lines, using the latest technology with much lower environmental build costs than cars produced in the past. By their nature, these new cars will be emitting the lowest levels of pollutants than they will ever produce in their lifetimes, as they get older.

I am pleased to say that the CO2 for the Mercedes GLA Class Petrol Automatic is now g/km. If you chose a different trim level, the CO2 would change, but not by much.

My Mercedes GLA Class 1.6 GLA 180 Urban Edition 16v (122bhp) Hatchback 5dr 1595cc Petrol Automatic (7 Speed) Petrol Automatic gearbox is only £300.88 inc VAT per month with 3 months initial payment, followed by 35 payments on direct debit. Business customers, make sure you deduct the VAT, when making decisions. Biofuels also offer a way to reduce vehicles’ impacts on climate change. The fuels are not entirely CO2 neutral because of the energy used to grow and process crops, but they can offer substantial CO2 savings over fossil petrol and diesel. Today most biofuels are sold in a blends of up to 5% with fossil petrol and diesel . These are suitable for use in all vehicles. Fuel standards may be extended in the future to allow more than 5% if it is concluded that this is compatible with existing vehicles. Some manufacturers offer ‘flexi-fuel’ vehicles that can run on bioethanol blends up to E85 – a blend of 85% bioethanol and 15% petrol, as well as fossil petrol.

Car CO2 change for the Renault Captur

Great cars like the Renault Captur 0.9 TCE GT Line 12v (90bhp) Hatchback 5dr 898cc Petrol Manual (5 Speed) Petrol Manual jump out to me when I am checking environment data. This one has changed, so I type it here. I get a lot of these changes.

Most Ling cars are on 2 year deals or less, so you should only need an oil and filter service (you won’t need brake pads etc unless you drive like German idiot Schumacker). You just pay this service yourself, OK? Some service intervals (eg. Renault) now at 18,000 miles! You can have this small service done at any cheap VAT registered garage, just use quality parts. Your car is fully covered by the manufacturer warranty (use franchise dealer for this, free), and you get manufacturer’s AA/RAC type cover.

The VCA (the VCA is the Government designated UK approval authority) wrote to me, saying “I can appreciate the efforts you are making to improve environmental awareness amongst your customers and I’m sure that your approach will be of help to them when deciding on a new car. The VCA continued, “Your comments and in depth suggestions on how we might improve the output of the data will be considered alongside any other proposals for change.”
