 Hi Ling. Well it took some time but in fairness that was down to the dealer and not you and we did get a free car for 6 weeks which was good. When the car arrived it was fine and still is. So overall we would do it again. Very slow delivery, complete load of rubbish about why the car was delayed, which went on and on. Not good at all.

Audi in Germany are rubbish at doing anything in a timely manner this year. Almost every VW or Audi has suffered delays, but yours more than most. But, hey, you got a free car for 6 weeks! It is very hard to argue against that, as it was 100% free, with free mileage. If anyone reads down these letters, the common theme of the very few moans is... Audi delays. This has been due to the post credit-crunch Audi factory delays and diversion of stock to the (higher profit) Euro zone, following Sterling devaluation against the Euro. Audi (and some VW) service in the UK (by Audi/VW, not the dealers) was rubbish in 2009. Most Audi dealers have been pulling out their hair for the same reasons, they have had hundreds of screaming customers (quite rightly screaming).

Having said all that, it is a completely unsatisfactory situation and the fact that Audi (frankly) lie about due dates is terrible. Makes everyone look shit, I'm afraid. Annoys customers, like you, David. Not much else to add. I simply cannot affect Audi policy, much as I would like to fly to Germany and scream at them.

You could have paid full retail price and the car would not have arrived sooner, I'm afraid. Situation on most Audis is simply - BAD. - Ling

 Service from Ling was always very good. Staff were courteous, the only downside was the delivery slipping, however I can say that Ling did everything possible, where the dealer fell down. The continuous slipping of dates for my A3 made it very difficult to sell my old car etc. Would have expected a hire car.

Editor Note: Well, it was not the dealer, Ric, it was Audi in Germany. Frankly the UK dealers are blameless in this. There has been such a demand for A3s (and TTs and Golfs), the factories could not cope - and with the strong Euro, UK build slots were diverted to European slots to maximise profits for Audi. This was very annoying and has affected most Audi customers all over the UK (retail customers and my customers alike). You are not the only one to be annoyed, every Audi dealer in the UK has been pulling their hair out. Reason no hire car was possible is that Audi did not give any support to the dealers, hence everyone was out of pocket (due to cashflow). Grrrr. What else can I say, except - bloody Germans! Glad you differentiate between my service, and Audi's service. Thanks :) - Ling

I have been impressed with the service and quick response to all questions raised during the process. I have in fact recommended you to a number of people who have asked me how it all went! I woul d not hesitate to lease again and I will be back for another Audi in three years time.

Excellent delivery - very happy with the service - they called arranged delivery and were waiting there with the car. Very impressed!!

Editor Note: Well, what a mistake by Audi! They built you the wrong car, a 5-door, not a 3-door. Let me just explain for anyone reading this... some mistakes do happen, even by Audi. The dealer immediately gave you a nice loan car (you do not mention this) and gave you free insurance until your correct car arrived. So, not a complete disaster as you got a free car for quite a period while the new one was being built. However, I agree should not have happened. The length of time Audi take is simply due to demand and is the same wherever you order a car from. Anyway, Donna, you now have your perfect correct car and I hope it gives you a very good few years of motoring. I think it is fair to say that Audi and the dealer sorted the stupid mistake out well and you actually benefited (even though you had to go through a small emotional trauma at the start). I did kick the dealer and Audi... but in the end I was pleased how they handled it, taking full responsibility. - Ling

 Excellent! It makes a refreshing change to receive such a high level of customer service throughout the whole process. The only downside were delivery delays from Audi UK.

However, Ling stepped in and arranged a loan car from Audi UK until my new car was finally delivered. I would recommend Ling to anyone interested in leasing - I'll be back in 2 years so hope there are still some great deals!

Excellent delivery, too. No problems with the delivery of either the loan car, or my new real lease car.

CarLing, I would gauge my reaction to your service as mixed. You make the process appear easy and straightforward. And in theory it should be. From a personal point of view, you need to listen to questions. Your eagerness to respond often means that you miss the point, ie. regarding delivery date. I would also like you to pursue compensation from Audi. Their offer of £25 is unacceptable and I return it with a view to you pursuing this matter for me. My car was delivered 4 days late. There was no paperwork or demonstration of vehicle. A lack of service, care and attention. Their compensation of £25 is unacceptable from a prestige dealer. My car hire for 4 days was approximately £130.

Editor Note: Well, well. This one was the curate's egg. I will first say that at the time of delivery the Audi dealer and network was in a state of shock at 30,000 VWs and Audis in Germany being damaged by a freak hailstorm. Which meant they were completely overwhelmed and could not sort things out as cars were being delivered to them erratically. I was in the situation where no one knew anything, so I could not get you the answers. It was really a freak thing. However... I immediately sorted out your compensation (myself), covering all your expenses. You subsequently wrote: "Agreed. Thank you. Unsatisfactory service should be challenged and if people will not deal with you it is because they do not have confidence in their ability to meet your standards. Too many companies today want to take the money without caring for the consumer. Thanks again." This dealer is very good normally, but they claim most of this was totally outside their control. They arranged hire cars for everyone with delays, but your car was not hailed on, just affected by the confusion, so they did not know it would be delayed 4 days. - Ling
