Green changes on my Volkswagen Passat

Checking against the values I publish for the Volkswagen Passat 1.9 TDi (105bhp) S Saloon 4dr 1896cc Diesel Manual, I have noticed a small error, so I’m publishing these new figures today. Please read.
At the manufacturer’s service intervals, the car will need a service, which you are responsible for. Of course, as it’s a brand-new car, tyres/brakes etc will probably last out the contract so you’ll only have a basic oil and filter service to pay for.
According to Nicholas Stern’s report, 14 per cent of global carbon dioxide emissions come from transport. The SMMT points out that the motor industry recognises it has a key role to play in reducing the impact of its products and production processes and will continue to develop the technologies to deliver more sustainable motoring. New cars, commercial vehicles and buses reflect many of the cleaner technologies coming to market, including biofuel models, hybrids and greener diesel vehicles.
The other pollutants from petrol, diesel and alternative fuel engines are mainly Carbon Monoxide, Oxides of Nitrogen, un-burnt Hydrocarbons and fine particles. The first three are gases and are invisible. Fine particles are usually invisible although in certain operating conditions diesels will produce visible particles, appearing as smoke. Petrol engines will also produce visible particles if they are burning engine oil or running rich, for example, following a cold start. Unlike CO2, emissions of these pollutants are not directly linked to fuel consumption. Pollutant levels are more dependant on vehicle technology and the state of maintenance of the vehicle.
Working it out from the tables, the CO2 is just 148g/km for the Volkswagen Passat Diesel Manual. There are a few cars in this range, so different specs will give slightly different CO2 values. Click on the “fridge label” to get a enviroment label to print for this car. The combined cycle economy for this Volkswagen Passat is now 50.40mpg, the noise level is 72dB(A) (decibels), the level of nitrogen oxides is 0.194g/km (oxides of Nitrogen react in the atmosphere to form Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2) which can have adverse effects on health, particularly among people with respiratory illness).
The Volkswagen Passat falls into the
C band overall.
My Volkswagen Passat 1.9 TDi (105bhp) S Saloon 4dr 1896cc Diesel with Manual gearbox is only £221.20+VAT per month with 3 months initial payment, followed by 35 payments on direct debit. Private customers, make sure you add in the VAT, when making decisions. As I can’t tell what type of customer you are (business or private), I can’t display the price any other way but to show VAT seperately (sorry!).
This price on my Volkswagen Passat includes full road tax for the length of the contract, on all of my cars and vans! Free delivery to your home or work and free collection from you at the end! £221.20+VAT per month is based on you driving 10,000 miles per annum, but higher mileages are usually available at a small extra cost. If you go over the allocated miles, you can pay a small excess mileage charge, usually between 3p and 15p per mile.
One of my best awards was the 2008 best non-franchise environmentalist, awarded by Automotive Management. The web is fickle, I have noticed LINGsCARS is the ONLY new car supplier to display and promote environmental info for ALL new cars, on the web! My website won "BEST non-franchised WEBSITE 2007" in the Automotive Management Awards.
Here’s a patronising tip from the government: “
Use air-conditioning sparingly – running air-conditioning continuously will increase fuel consumption significantly.”
Website comments come in all the time – I have got one that says… “Hello Ling, I found your site one of the most interesting and funny on the web. What a great concept, if only there were more people like you! Why don’t you have a recipe of the month? Your quiz was too hard for me and your teeshirt is cool.
